VANCOUVER, British Columbia – January 19, 2005 – Pacific Imperial Mines Inc. (the “Company”) It is with sadness that the Company announces the tragic death of its director, Jeffrey (Jun) Ma, in a traffic accident in China. Mr. Ma was one of the founders of the Company’s wholly owned Chinese subsidiary, Goldchina Holdings Group Limited, which the Company acquired in a reverse take-over transaction completed in September of 2004. His boundless energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed. The Board extends its deepest sympathies to Mr. Ma’s family and numerous friends and acquaintances.
